Wild Olive Cottage
On the narrow peninsula dividing Mobile Bay from the Gulf of Mexico sits the tranquil, breezy community of Fort Morgan, Alabama. Miles away from the bustling beach town of Gulf Shores, it’s a place where families go to relax, reconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the Gulf Coast.
We imagined, designed, and built Wild Olive Cottage to encapsulate all the magic we love about this thin slice of the world: the simplicity, the serenity, and the space to connect and relax with family and friends. The cottage is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home nestled between Mobile Bay and Navy Cove, offering guests the privacy of the bay side with a short 3-5 minute walk to the beach. It sleeps nine and is an ideal accommodation for two families traveling together with children, families traveling with grandparents, or a group of friends enjoying a sunny retreat!

Where does the name come from?
The wild olive tree, Osmanthus Americanus, is one of the many native plants that thrive in the white sandy soil of the Gulf coast. Also known as “devilwood” because the wood is so difficult to split, these lush and fragrant trees can be found among the live oaks and loblolly pines that grow along the peninsula.
